Game's not over yet with the Saints leading 13-10 in the 3rd quarter, but I figure no one will check this until the game is over. Who were you hoping would win?

I've been pulling for the Saints for the last couple of (bandwagon) weeks but I didn't think they'd do it. With that interception and run back, it looks like it's pretty much over.

from the start i wanted a good game. Wasn't the high-scoring game many predicted, but it was an okay game. Congrats to the Saints.

I was rooting for Colts. Fuck those dirty latehitting cocksuckers the Saints. They tried to take two veteran possible hall of fame quarterbacks out.

SB XLIV was the most watched TV program in the history of TV. over 106 million tuned in, breaking the record once held by the Finale of MASH.

the SB commercials were a lil dull this year imo, but there were a few that i liked. Betty White getting clobbered, the "casual Fridays", but i liked the Dorito ninja/samurai ad the best - totally random comedy.

I really don't see how that was the most watched event in history. It really wasn't that good of a game.

But how would anyone know that until after they watched it?

And we've been spoiled by all the good SB's the last 10 years. If you put it between almost any of the '70's, '80's, or '90's games it would've looked thrilling by comparison.

Peyton vs Brees (MVP vs should-have-been MVP), elite offenses and very good defenses, #1 seeds, both coulda been 16-0, Colts being the Colts, Saints with the big story for New Orleans? plus bad weather in the east coast forcing more people to stay indoors?

I'm sure as hell all that would draw 100M+ viewers at the very start of the game.

I put it 14th out of 44 (behind 43, 38, 42, 34, 25, 23, 36, 32, 5, 10, 39, 13, and 17). Some might stick 3 in there but that was a really lousy game (too much running the ball, game wasn't as close as the final score was, etc) so I didn't.

What are they supposed to do, not hit the QB? It's fucking football. If you get a hit on the QB you take it. Watch the history of the AFL to see what real hits look like.

Yeah I know, but you don't take late hits on a 40 year old hall of fame quarterback and drive his body into the ground and try to break him. That was a bitch move. They only called one of the like six late hits there were. After that I couldn't root for the Saints.

What pissed me off even more was that the Vikings didn't do shit to retaliate. If I was on their defensive line and saw them do that I would start gunning right for Brees' kneecaps and turn it into a battle of whose quarterback would be the last one standing.

I fondly remember Jack Lambert dragging some dork out of bounds by his heel, then kicking him and he flung him into the crowd of his own teammates on the sideline...great crap.
