I think you can pull the "W"s off of the Tenn, AZ and Houston games there. Just saying.

The Niners also. Raiders have a good D and Decent core but I dont think Jason Campbell is going to turn the Raiders into an instant playoff team. I think the Raiders win between 6-8 games. They still got shitty coaches and AL .

Jason Campbell had better stats than Donovan McNabb last season, behind one of the worst offensive lines ever.

And the only shitty coach we have left is the defensive coordinator, which is why it's good we upgraded the defense, specifically the run defense, significantly.

my pre-camp picks

1 - @ Tenn, L - out of the gate, a hard test for our run D
2 - StL, W - it's the Rams, and we're not worse
3 - @ Arz, L - 'nother interesting match, Cards have degraded, but since it's a road game, i'm not so sure about our ability to play on the road
4 - Hou, W - i have a feeling we may pull off the upset here, hell we beat Philly and Cincy at home last year, but this one's a coin flip
5 - SD, W - still the team to beat, but i have a good feeling the chargers streak ends this year
6 - @ SF, L - gonna be interesting, but the Niners are still 2 yrs ahead (if u know what i mean)
7 - @ Den, W - lately we like to win in Denver, and the broncos aren't that impressive
8 - Sea, W - 'Hawks are still rebuilding, and i like our chances at home
9 - KC, W - won't be surprised this'll be another close match, but i think we can sweep em
10 - BYE
11 - @ Pitt, L - tho we won last year, i think Pitt gets their vengeance this year
12 - Mia, L - i think this'll be a coin flip game, but i'm giving the edge to the 'fins
13 - @ SD, L - Boltz will win the division, and we lose once more at SD
14 - @ Jax, L - another coin flip game imo, and once again i'm giving the edge to the Jags
15 - Den, W - we sweep the broncos, and the Black Hole will celebrate
16 - Indy, L - still Peyton, still the Colts, not gonna expect an easy game to watch
17 - @ KC, W - end the season winning at Arrowhead, in another close contest, but end up sweeping the Chiefs

so, 8-8, with a couple games give or take. I really do like the talent we have on this team, and considering the flashes the team shown last year (when Russell isn't playing, i might add) I think at last we'll start playing like a decent team. Finishing with 7-8 wins is a good season for us in our situation.

We better not go on a 4 game losing streak coming out of the bye. MIA and JAX are winnable games.

I'll go with 8-8.

The Raiders are a bit better than people think, but please get ride of AL Davis!

I want to say 6-8 wins. Getting rid of Russell is worth at least 1 more win.

Combining the upgrades on defense, the young WR and RB corps being a year older, and the lack of Russell's suckitude, I'd say we would've won at least two more games last year. I'll be optimistic and add one more, and say 8-8.

We could have been 8-8 last year if we held onto 4th quarter leads.

Raiders sign 2 more draftees, and failed to sign Seymour long-term:

Quote:
ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP)—The Oakland Raiders have signed two more draft picks to contracts.

The team announced deals with sixth-round linebacker Travis Goethel(notes) and seventh-round defense back Jeremy Ware(notes) on Thursday. The team has signed five of its nine draft picks.

The Raiders also did not sign defensive lineman Richard Seymour(notes) to a long-term deal by a deadline Thursday. The Raiders now will be unable to sign Seymour to a long-term deal until after the season because he is their franchise player.

Seymour signed a $12.4 million exclusive franchise tag tender last month.

Still waiting for McClain and Houston to get signed.

One more draftee signed, 4th rounder Ford.

Quote:
ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP)—The Oakland Raiders have signed receiver Jacoby Ford(notes), their fourth-round pick in the draft.

The Raiders announced a deal Monday for Ford, the sixth of Oakland’s nine draft picks to agree to terms.

Ford starred in football and track at Clemson. He was the fastest receiver at the most recent NFL Combine, clocking a 4.28-second 40-yard dash.

The Raiders have always loved speedy receivers under Al Davis’ ownership. They traded veteran linebacker Kirk Morrison(notes) to acquire an extra fourth-round pick from Jacksonville to draft Ford, who is expected to return kicks in Oakland.

Ford caught 56 passes for 779 yards and six touchdowns last season at Clemson. He also ran for two touchdowns and averaged 14.3 yards per punt return.

with the mid-and low rounders dealt with in relatively quick succession, deals for McClain and Houston should be announced very shortly i expect.

Raiders signed their 7th rounder.

Also, the first 1st rounder has been signed - Dez Bryant, Dallas. Now the dominos should start falling for the rest of the 1st round draftees.

Raiders sign 2nd rounder Lamaar Houston. Hope to sign McClain by thursday.

Quote:
ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP)—The Oakland Raiders have signed second-round pick Lamarr Houston(notes) one day before players report to training camp.

With the contract for the defensive end announced Monday, the Raiders have signed all but one of their draft picks. The team hopes to have first-rounder Rolando McClain(notes) signed by the time the first training camp practice begins Thursday.

The Raiders picked Houston 44th overall in April’s draft. He is being counted on to help turn around a struggling run defense in Oakland. He is expected to play left defensive end for the Raiders after playing more at tackle in college at Texas.
